Welcome to Goose Island Candle Company, a family-run business nestled in St Helens village on the Isle of Wight. We take immense pride in curating exquisite home fragrance candles and diffusers that make perfect gifts.

Our products are handmade, from pouring soy wax to adding labels and boxing items to send out.

Soy Wax
Does the type of candle wax really matter? 

What is Soy Wax? Soy wax is a 100% natural wax derived from the vegetable soybeans. Soybeans are one of the major agricultural crops grown in the United States. After the beans are harvested, they are then cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, then rolled into flakes. Soybean oil is extracted from the flakes.

The benefits of soy wax candles.

  • Soy wax is a natural product that is safe for your skin and respiratory system.

  • Soy is a renewable source unlike paraffin wax which relies on our shrinking supply of crude oil. 

  • Soy wax is a carbon neutral product, meaning you can enjoy your candle knowing it hasn't had a negative impact on the environment.

  • Soy wax burns on average 40-50% slower than paraffin wax, resulting in long-lasting candles and giving you better value for money.

  • Warm soapy water can wash away soy wax making it easy to repurpose your container once the candle has burned down.  

  • Soy wax is clean burning and doesn't release toxins, carcinogens or pollutants which means it's less likely to trigger allergies.

  • Soy wax won't leave black marks on your walls as it does not release petrol-carbon soot which you do get from paraffin candles.
